This course is for teachers who want to learn how to use PowerPoint to enrich the classroom experience.  Sometimes teachers lose students’ focus during the lesson, but what better way to engage students than to create a colorful, lively presentation!

This course is aimed at the teacher who has no prior knowledge (or very little knowledge) of PowerPoint.   It is also or for new teachers who may need help with designing engaging PowerPoint lessons.

This course introduces you to the basic features of PowerPoint and gives a step by step demonstration of how to use the features.  Teachers, additionally, are given an opportunity to work alongside the instructor, designing a PowerPoint lesson to be used in the class.

There are two free lessons (two PowerPoints and a high school lesson plan) available for those who register for this course.  It can be downloaded from the resources section.

In this course, you will learn the basics of PowerPoint design. By the end of the course, you will know how to:

  1. Add a new slide & change the font

  2. Select a suitable image for your slide and how to Insert a picture in your PowerPoint slide

  3. How to insert a video in your PowerPoint slide

  4. Design your slides

  5. Add transitions & animations

  6. Make a slideshow

  7. Most importantly, design a lesson that will engage your students for minutes on end.

    *There are some captions for the hearing impaired.
